Living a Full Life
Therapy here is designed around the life you want to live, not just the symptoms that brought you to us.
When we meet, our focus shifts from asking what is wrong with you to deeply understanding what has happened to you. We look at the challenges, systems, and life events you have faced, how you have survived and managed them, and what those experiences have taken from you.
From there, we explore what you want your life to hold: the people in it, the actions that bring you meaning, and the values that matter to you. These answers become the compass for our work together, ensuring everything we do is in service of a life that is genuinely, authentically yours.
Why we exist
Full Lives Psychology was founded to address a critical pattern we witnessed far too often. Someone bravely reaches out for support during a vulnerable moment, only to end up in therapy that isn’t right for them. Navigating mental healthcare shouldn’t feel like guesswork. Finding a psychologist whose experience matches your difficulty can be hard, and a poor match is discouraging at exactly the time you need clarity, safety and effective care.
We built this practice to do that differently. Our aim is to connect you with specialist psychological care, delivered by clinicians whose experience is relevant to what you are dealing with.
Full Lives Psychology is a small team working within defined clinical areas: trauma, personal injury, and long-term health conditions including persistent pain.
These are not vague aspirations; they are our operational standards. Because true clinical excellence requires absolute accountability, we invite you to hold us to the five distinct commitments that define everything we do:
Depth over breadth. We work in three areas rather than many, so that each clinician’s experience is genuinely relevant to the people they see.
Honesty about our limits. Some difficulties sit outside what we specialise in — neuropsychology, autism assessment, eating disorders, and anything needing inpatient or crisis care. We explore whether our service is likely to be a good fit during your introductory conversation, and if another service would be more appropriate, we’ll explain why and discuss the next steps.
Understanding before treatment. We start from what's actually maintaining the difficulty for you, not a fixed programme applied to everyone.
Evidence, measured honestly. We track progress with the same standard measures (CORE-10, CORE-OM and WSAS) for every client, from the first person we ever saw, and we'll publish outcome data as soon as our sample is large enough to be meaningful, not before.
Continuity of care. Our usual approach is for the same psychologist to assess you and provide your therapy. If your needs change, your clinician becomes unavailable, or the match does not feel right, we’ll discuss the options with you and help plan the next steps.
Who leads the practice
Full Lives Psychology is led by Dr Bradley Platt, Clinical Director — a doctoral-level clinical psychologist registered with the HCPC, with a career spanning specialist NHS clinical practice and senior healthcare leadership, working alongside a small number of associate psychologists. Why trauma, personal injury, and long-term health conditions
These aren't three unrelated niches bundled together. Trauma is the thread running through all of them: an injury carries the trauma of the event itself, not just the physical damage; a long-term condition or persistent pain often carries its own trauma of an unpredictable, unreliable body. Working across all three through the same trauma-informed lens is what lets one clinician understand the whole picture, rather than treating a diagnosis and missing what sits underneath it.
Where we're going
Full Lives Psychology is a small, deliberately specialist practice: two associate psychologists working alongside Bradley today, each within a maximum of two named specialisms. As we grow, what we specialise in will grow too — but only when we have the right clinician to lead it properly.
Where we work
Full Lives Psychology works online, across the UK.
